I wish you would have mentioned that older operating systems on the MAC are not supporting this. Was unable to to do this as my computer is iOS 10.6.8. I wish there was a work-around as a new computer is out of the question.

Joann – I am sorry the information was not available to me until after the update was done. Have you checked to make sure you are unable to upgrade…its a free upgrade from Apple. Debbie

We have not been able to use our Cricut Design Space for our Cricut Explore machine since July when the new plug-in that updates automatically was introduced. An update that automatically installs is not allowed by our IT department because of security restrictions. Why doesn’t Cricut offer the option for updating the plug-in as they were done before? We have invested a lot of time and money into using this system for our campus for bulletin boards, decorations and vinyl signage. We also subscribe annually to the Cricut Image Library. There has to be a solution to our situation. Please help us get back to our Cricut Design Space without the automatic update of the new plug-in. Please show us a solution to this major issue for us. Thank you.

I understand what you are saying about limitations within your institutes firewall. However, I am not able to change this at Cricut as they were trying to make it easier on the majority of their customers to not have to deal with manually updating the plug in. I would urge you to contact Cricut Support at 877-727-4288 and see if they have a better solution to offer you to get around the security restrictions.

I’m trying to install an update for the cricut design space. It never stops downloading. Seriously, why do I have to be online to use the cricut explore? Do they want to be able to steal any design the want?
Debbie
Hello – There could be a variety of issues why the download seems to be hung up for you. Its hard for me to troubleshoot that for you. My best suggestion is to contact Cricut Support Toll-free: 877-7CRICUT
M-F 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. EST They are great and can walk you through to get past this issue. Be prepared to tell them what browser and operating system you are using.
In regards to your other question, Cricut Design Space was made so that more updates can be done on the backend by Cricut as they frequently update the software so you dont have to worry about updating the software constantly. Once you get your downloading issue resolved, you will see the benefit of using Design Space Online. FYI – If you have iPhone or iPad, Cricut has an APP that you can now use Design Space Offline but that feature will not be added to the desktop version as the technology is not compatiable.
Hope this info helps you. I don’t work for Cricut but happy to share my Cricut knowledge to assist.
