Day 22: 25 Days of Christmas Projects Inspiration
Welcome to Day 22 of 25 Days of Christmas Project Inspiration:
Christmas Lights
What do you think of when you hear the words “Christmas Lights”? Holiday Lights on the house, Lights on the Christmas tree, Lights in the window ? I think of all those too but there is one other Christmas Light I always have and that is on my dining room table.
Today I wanted to share a paper Christmas Lantern I plan on using with a battery operated candle.
Christmas Lantern Tutorial:
1. I used this Snowflake Lantern by Jennifer Wambach from the Silhouette Online Store.
2. The original file was a shorter square lantern and I wanted a taller lantern for my table. So I was able to adjust the file in the Silhouette software to create a taller lantern.
3. I selected some double-sided holiday paper. The double-sided paper is a bit thicker and holds the shape of 3D projects better than single sided paper. I cut out the lantern shape making sure the printed side I wanted to show would be on the outside of the lantern.
4. I cut out some silver vellum paper to use on the inside of the lantern. I adhered around all the edges.
5. I like to use Scor-Tape to adhere the sides of the lantern shape together.
6. I added the gem stones to the outside of the lantern to give it some added sparkle.
7. I used a battery operated light inside so I did not have to worry about the paper burning. I made several of these and know they will look lovely on the holiday table Christmas Eve with some greenery and snowflake embellishments.

That silver vellum paper really gives this project a special touch. Where in the world did you find it?
