Travel Photo Memories Documented
It’s Labor Day weekend, and you know what that means? YES, it does mean extra holiday time off and BBQ’s but it also means SUMMER is behind us and our TRAVEL PHOTO MEMORIES are stacked up, ready to be preserved and treasured, right?
Today I wanted to show you how I quickly (less than 30 minutes) put together a travel photo memory page by combining a few die cuts and a few Oh SNAP Products by Simple Stories. {Note: Yes, you caught me, these photos are from LAST summer, but the important thing is I am getting them scrapped !}
I had bought some of the Oh Snap Journaling Cards and the 6X6 paper pad by Simple Stories that are typically used for Project Life. I thought it would be fun to use these in a different way than slipping them into project life sleeves. And actually using up some of my stash of supplies.
1. I started by selecting a neutral background in a creamy color cardstock by Bazzill that reminded me of the stone of the Alamo. Then used a dark brown cardstock as a photo mat to help ground the three photos I trimmed to use .
2. I loved the colors of the chevron arrows to add some punch of color to the layout so I selected some of the journaling cards and cut out some of the arrow shapes, which I then tucked behind the photos.
3. To create a grouping of embellishments on the page, I trimmed a piece of the matching patterned paper to act as a base and slipped under the photo mat. Then I cut the Go See Do mini bingo card from one of the journaling cards in the set and layered on top.
4. I added the Adventure wood veneer arrow I had in my stash (I think it was a Recollections brand) to the embellishment grouping. Then die cut some stars out of matching patterned paper using my Silhouette Cameo. I used foam pop dots to add some dimension to the cluster.
5. The title was done using American Craft Foam Thickers to add more dimension to the page and I added a few more the of the die cut stars using foam pop dots to tie into the embellishment cluster. (Note: I could have die cut the title too but I am trying to use up my Thicker stash )
6. Lastly I used one of those handy dandy journaling cards and added my journaling. And you may notice that I used a dark brown journaling pen and added some doodling to the journaling card and the patterned paper to enhance the look.
I love how this turned out. And the fact it was quick. And the fact I used some supplies in my stash. And the fact I used my die cut shapes a new way !
