Fabulous Die Cut Tips: Use Die Cuts in new ways

So, you have a ton of die cut images you totally love but tired of using them in the same way.  How about looking at them from a different perspective and using them in a totally new way?

I was  recently inspired by a Sizzix Accordian Flip 3D Album but I didn’t own it. Then an idea popped in my head…how about using a die cut I already owned to mimic that one. I had a fabulous die cut image of a 3D Flip Swing Card by Lori Whitlock I had purchased at the Silhouette Online Store but only previously used to make a single card.

So guess what?  I cut 4 of the flip cards out using my Silhouette, scored the left side of each card, added some score tape along the edge and adhered each of the flip cards to each other as shown below.  Note: I decorated my project using Washi tape, stamps, bling and more Lori Whitlock die cut images.

And wah lah ! I had just used one die cut image to create something totally new !

I can now use this same die cut image as a fold out card, holiday decor or even a mini album fold out by placing pictures on some of the flip panels. How cool is that !   So does this inspire you to see your die cut images in a whole new way ? Leave a comment and share your thoughts.

All my comments are my own opinions on those products. I appreciate your support when you purchase using the post links.

  • What a totally cool idea! I think I’m going to have to look at my dies tonight and see what I can do to change them up! Thanks for the inspiration.

This is so gorgeous. I don’t know if you could ever give it away! And, the pictures can’t show how cool it is when it opens and the little panels pivot. Lovely.

  • I would really like to see this in motion! Or maybe I just need to see the die cut, because I just can’t really picture it! 🙂
