Day 10: 25 Days of Christmas Projects Inspiration

25 days of Christmas

Welcome to Day 10 of 25 Days of Christmas Project Inspiration:

Holiday Shadow Boxes

I have had a lot of fun this year making Holiday Shadow Boxes to display in my home and to give as gifts.  Here is another Holiday Shadow Box I wanted to share today…Jingle All the Way.

Jingle All the Way Shadow Box

Jingle All The Way Shadow Tutorial:

1.Gather your supplies: (1) 8 X 8 Shadow Box, (1) sheet of Square 1 Permanent  Adhesive Backed Fabric (which is like vinyl only easier to use), (1) sheet of patterned paper at least 8 X 8, and Jingle Bells. Optional:  Ribbon, (1) florist pick     Tip: Use the medium to small Jingle Bells so they fit inside the frame when closed

Jingle Supplies2. I used a piece of paper from Teresa Collins Checking It Twice Paper Pad and cut it down to 8 x  8 to fit inside the frame.  I used a glue stick and glued it down to the inside backing of the shadow box frame.

Check It Twice Paper Pad 3. Select the phrase image to use. I purchased the Jingle All the Way phrase by Kerry Bradford Studios.  It was only $1.29 and I can use it again and again. Note: If you are making projects for sale, you need to contact Kerri about purchasing a Commerical License instead.

4.  Load the image on your die cut machine mat to size the image. You can either cut the image as is head on which would be placed on the FRONT of the glass (on left in picture below) OR you need to FLIP the image horizontally to place on INSIDE the glass (on the right in the picture below).  Tip: In Silhouette software to FLIP, highlight the image, go to Object on menu bar, select Transform, Flip Horizontally…now isn’t that super easy ?)

5. Cut out the phrase on Square 1 Permanent Adhesive Backed Fabric using a kiss cut.  Weed the image. I used Black Permanent so it shows up well against the background paper and looks nice with the black frame. Adhere to the glass using transfer tape.        Tip: Make sure to wipe off glass with glass cleaner first to make sure no lint is on the glass.

6.  Add the Jingle Bells to the floor of the shadow box, I did this by flipping the box over on a table and placing them in. I left mine loose, then added the back of the box to the frame.

7.  If you want, add a complimentary flower pick and ribbon to the top. You can hot glue on the top.

It’s finished in flash and ready to use in your home displays for the holidays or to give as a gift.

You are making it SOOOO hard to resist the whole CAMEO thing! And I KNOW I’m getting some money for Christmas, so why not go ahead and get it with all these bundle deals that keep popping up lately? …..so hard to resist….. Love the shadow box idea again. When I do mine, I might attach the pick with Velcro so I can switch it out every year!
