Day 11: 25 Days of Christmas Projects Inspiration

25 days of Christmas

Welcome to Day 11 of 25 Days of Christmas Project Inspiration:

Kids Christmas Party Ideas

This time of year there are lots of parties for the kids. If you are stumped for an idea of something fun for the kids to make at the party, how about a ” Build Your Own Snowman Activity”. Its super easy and kids of all ages would have fun decorating their snowman with markers and other little embellishments if you choose.

Snowman Activity Box Tutorial:

Supplies Used: White cardstock (base boxes), black cardstock (hat & face), orange cardstock (nose), red cardstock (scarf), button, twine, self adhesive black rhinestones, adhesive.

Alternatively, you could just make the box shapes and give the kids markers to draw on their own snowman face, scarf and buttons instead of cutting out all the small shapes.

1. My “Build Your Own Snowman Activity” shown is actually a file from the Silhouette Online Store 3D Stacking Boxes by Samantha Walker. I cut them at the size already set in the downloaded file.

2.Cut the boxes out of cardstock using your Silhouette. Cut as many of each set that you need for the kiddos.

3.  Assemble the boxes by folding on the score marks and adding a little adhesive on the side panels to hold the boxes together.  Depending on age of kids they could do this OR you could do this part before handing out the boxes.  Make sure you leave the top of the box without adhesive so it can open and close.

4. Once the boxes are assembled, the kids could decorate the separate boxes according to the photos below. Depending on the age of the kids, you might rather have them draw the decorations on with markers or crayons instead of having them glue the small pieces on.  Tip: The boxes stack inside each other. You could give each kid a set of the boxes with whatever you want them to use to decorate them.
