Day 13: 25 Days of Christmas Projects Inspiration

25 days of Christmas

Welcome to Day 13 of 25 Days of Christmas Project Inspiration:

Favorite Christmas Meal or Recipe

We all have them. Those foods we look forward to all year long.  Those special treats that become part of our holiday memories and traditions. But in the hussle and bustle of the holidays we sometimes forget to stop and record those special food memories. Today I wanted to share with you a scrapbook layout all about our Favorite Christmas Meal.

Favorite Meal Layout

CREATING QUICK LAYOUTS WITH YOUR DIE CUT MACHINE TIPS:

1. Use your die cut machine to cut out the title for your layout.  But to give it more dimension, cut the title out three or four times and adhere them all together to create more dimension with your layout.

2.  Use simple shapes in your die cuts to create background shapes on your layout.  Here I used a long tag I had from the Silhouette Online Store, “erased” the punch hole, and made the tag longer than usual for a tag.  (So easy to do in our die cut software..love this). I then cut that altered tag shape out in three different patterned papers (holly, music sheet, tone on tone brocade).  And grouped these to add interest and create a background for the featured photo of the layout.

3. Create or find some sentiments and print out on cardstock like I did for the “memories, celebrate, wish” statements at top of layout.  I did the same thing for the “Tradition” statement but altered the size to fit a die cut tags shape and used foam pop dots to layover the patterned paper strips on the bottom embellishment grouping.

4.  Create one larger die cut image as your main focal embellishment for your layout.  I made this layered Poinsettia out of some flocked scrapbook paper I had in an old stack of Christmas papers from Making Memories (if any of you remember that company from way back).

5. And don’t forget to add some journaling about the food memory. You can cut any simple die cut shape out of paper and hand write your note to add to your layout.

Using these 5 simple “Quick Layouts with your Die Cut Machines Tips” will make it easy for you to record your own Holiday Meals or Recipes.

Great layout! I love the idea of flocked paper. I just assumed that it was a purchased embellishment!
