Day 18: 25 Days of Christmas Projects Inspiration
Welcome to Day 18 of 25 Days of Christmas Project Inspiration:
Christmas Layouts
We all take a lot of photos during the holidays, right? It’s important to capture those memories but how about actually using them on a scrapbook page ! I have two Christmas Layouts to inspire you today and show you ways to use your die cutting machines.
Sisters(1989) Christmas Layout Supplies Used: Teresa Collins Santa’s List Collection, Glitter Twine, Button, Red Rhinestones, Textured Cardstock, Foam Pop Dots
This first layout is actually recording a memory of when my girls (now adults) visited Santa together when they were 6 and 8 years old. I recently ran across this photo and wanted to use it to capture that fond memory. I am displaying it along with other holiday decor this year to be a Christmas flashback conversation starter.
I used my Silhouette to cut out the “Sisters” and “1989” in red glitter cardstock. This layout has a lot of layering in it starting with the patterned paper cut down and placed on cardstock background. Then a strip of glitter paper cut and layered across the top of the page.
You can see I wasn’t shy about cutting different elements from patterned paper and mixing with stickers and chipboard from the collection. I added dimension by adding foam pop dots behind some of the elements too.
This layout was fun to put together. I just love all the Teresa Collins Collections but this Santa’s List is one of my most favorite Christmas lines ever. (In fact, I bought two complete sets of it so I have enough to do more projects in the future years).
4th Grade Christmas Program 2 Page Layout Supplies Used: Countdown to Christmas Collection by Bazzill Basics Paper, cardstock, rhinestones, Signo White Gel Pen, Santa journal card from Teresa Collins Santa’s List Collection
There are always a lot of photos taken at the kid’s Christmas Programs so a two page layout works best to capture those memories. This red/green/black and white Countdown to Christmas Collection papers were a perfect color scheme for these photos of my granddaughter’s 4th grade performance last year. The layout was done on white textured cardstock (the black background shown is just what I photographed the layout against). I mixed and matched a few sheets from the collection and layered the papers.
A way to make a more interesting display with 4X6 photos when you have so many to use is to cut them down to 4X4 photos and create a collage on one mat like I did on this page. To tie the photos together I used a sticker on a foam pop dot over the 4 corners in the center.
But the “die cut star” of this layout are the layered poinsettas I made using the 3D Poinsettia Flower by Lori Whitlock in the Silhouette Online Store. . After cutting them out, I used a white Signo gel pen to add interest to each petal.
I slightly bent up the petals on each poinsetta layer, then used a glue dot to adhere each layer together and topping off with a rhinestone gem.
The “Title” on the left page is a group of embellishments including a sticker sentiment, a journaling card and one of the poinsettas I made. And, of course, our star of the show deserved some special double matting and pop dots to show off her adorable smile and holiday outfit.
The poinsetta on the bottom right page was slightly larger than the other two poinsettas elsewhere on the layout and was layered with a sticker sentiment and a patterned paper leaf.
So there you have it, two Christmas layouts using die cuts…a title and embellishments. Hopefully YOU are inspired to make some holiday layouts from this season or even season pasts.

I think even I could recreate the banner/button/wraparound thread as a layered embellishment! You make this look so easy! And I really like the clean and simple style of the Christmas program layout!
