Day 8: 25 Days of Christmas Projects Inspiration
Welcome to Day 8 of 25 Days of Christmas Project Inspiration:
Wreaths
Wreaths are the topic today and as usual, I didn’t want to make a traditional type of wreath to show you. I wanted to give you an idea of how to use your Cameo to make a Wreath you can put up on any surface. Its super simple and I can move this one anywhere I want to put it and not need a hook for it. Are you intrigued?
Printed Removable Wreath Tutorial:
1. First, locate an image of a Wreath that you like. I found these wonderful Vintage Wreath images that are free to use from the Graphics Fairy 110 FREE Christmas Images. There are many styles to choose from and some other lovely vintage Christmas images you can use for other things. I selected this Holly Wreath Graphic to use. Download to your computer.
2. Open your Silhouette software and open up a new mat. Select FILE, OPEN from menu and locate the Wreath you downloaded, click on it to download. It will appear on your mat. Change the mat size to 8 1/2 X 11. Align the Wreath image on the mat.
3. Use the Font function (click the “A” on the left side of the screen menu) and click in the middle of the Holly Wreath. Select the font you want to use from your font window on the right side. I used the LaurenScript font. Type in the sentiment you want to use. I typed in “Wishing You a Merry Christmas”.
4. Click off the image and back on the words you typed in so it highlights just the words. Click on the Fill bucket at top left menu and choose color you prefer. I used bright red. This will now fill in the words so that are all red.
5. You can now send your wreath image to your printer directly from your Silhouette Software. I printed my image out on Square 1 Printable. It is acid free, PVC free and Repositionable Fabric Backed Adhesive that I can apply and remove from any surface: walls, doors, mirrors, brick, wood, glass, etc. I plan on adding this to our hall bathroom mirror. I trimmed my Wreath image down to be a little more square. Tip: Before printing on an Printable product you should make sure you know which direction your printer prints out the image so you can place the product in the correct position in the printer tray.
6. For a final touch, I wanted to add a little sparkle to this printable so I used some red Stickles (glitter glue) to the berries. Let the printed image and Stickles dry for at least 30 minutes or more before applying to surface of your choice.
7. Once the ink and Stickles were dry I was ready to apply to the surface of my choice. Peel off the backing and apply. I usually start on one side on the surface and then slowly rub my hand across to gently to press on to the surface, smoothing it out. Tip: Be sure and safe it to store the image on after you finish with it.
I put this on our Guest Bathroom Mirror. The great thing about using Square 1 Printable is that after the holidays are over, I will be able to remove it easily and put away on the same backing I saved and be ready to use it again next year. Just store in a cool, dry place.

Thanks for the link to the freebie site! And nice touch adding the stickles to the canvas after printing. This makes me think of using a wreath image on vinyl to jazz up my car (maybe around the speedometer?!) Or how about the printable fabric onto the glove box cover? Hmmmm…..
